HAPPY THANKSGIVING

We hope everyone has a really great Thanksgiving today! We miss you and wish we could be with family today. I haven't stopped thinking about turkey yet... and all the other favorite Thanksgiving food.

Hopefully we will be seeing Amy soon and have a little Thanksgiving with her and some of her local friends. She was here 11/17 for a show that we got to see. For those of you who don't know Amy LaVere is Travis' cousin who plays the upright bass and sings in a band. She is touring and performing with Seasick Steve who has become kind of a big deal here in England. She's coming back to London today and will be here till the 29th.

Love,
Renee and Travis

About to pass over Tower Bridge

This week we got a really great surprise!! My parents were supposed to have a one hour lay over in London before going to Israel with a group from church. They missed the connection in London so everyone was supposed to fly out that night. My parents decided to stay until Wednesday morning and meet up with the group later!! Since it was Sunday and I couldn't got to the library to get directions it took me 3 hours to get to their hotel but got to spend the rest of the day with them there.

On Monday we went into Central London and got on the Big Bus Company bus tour. It took us around the big sights and we stopped at St. Pauls Cathedral.. which is not a Catholic cathedral by the way. There was a Whispering Gallery in the dome where Travis could be on one side and whisper into the wall and I could hear him on the other. We also went on a River Cruise down the Thames just as the sun was going down. We passed by London Bridge... there has been a bridge in that spot since the Romans. My dad told us that the US bought the last one and its in Arizona right now... random. We passed by a pub that is 400 years old and Shakespeare went to by his Globe Theatre which is still open.

Tuesday we went by Buckingham Palace and of course missed the changing of the guard because in the winter its every other day and was Monday and Wednesday.. haha! Travis has seen it before when he was here but one of these time someone is visiting I will too. We then went back on the Big Bus tour to get us closer to the British Museum. We passed by the original Madam Tussauds. The British Museum is huge! We tried to see as much as possible... at least that was me and dad's thinking... seeing most quickly instead of a little for a long time. Mom of course was slow but I bet she learned more than Dad and I. Travis is fast at everything so got a lot out of just the couple hours he was able to stay before going to school. The museum has some really amazing stuff like the Rosetta Stone and parts of the Parthenon. I got to have dinner with just my parents which was nice since Travis was stuck at school.

Travis and I rode the Tube (subway) for the first time these couple days which was pretty nice. They are definitely cleaner and nicer then the subways I have seen in New York.

It was so great seeing my parents and I missed them right away. I hoped they would get stuck again coming back but the layover was longer so no luck...
